Researches led by Canine Genetic team from CNRS-University of Rennes 1 (Dr Catherine André), Dr Eric Guaguère (Clinic Veterinary Saint-Bernard 59160 Lomme) and their partner (ANTAGENE laboratory) led to the identification of the mutation responsible for Ichthyosis and in the validation of DNA test. The process allowing the implementation of this test is patented by CNRS and the University of Rennes 1. ANTAGENE laboratory has an international licence to sell this test.
