1. What is a DNA test ?
It is a  test performed on a cheek swab sample has to be done by the veterinary

2. Why realising a DNA test ?
- To Get the unique DNA fingerprint of my animal and to value my breeding Dogs/cats (ISAG 2006 standard dog/ISAGF 2010 cat)
- To realize a parentage verification
- To screen for a hereditary disease

3. What is a parentage verification ?
It is a verification of the parentage link between a brood bitch, one or two stud dogs and a puppy/kitten

4. What do I have to do to realize a Parentage test ?
Stud dogs and brood bitch have to be tested with Genetic Identification, then you have to perform a Genetic Identification DNA test on the puppies/kitten. After all, we could make the parentage test.

5. Can I do a Parentage test if I am not the Breeding dogs/cats owner ?
Yes you can, but we need a written authorization from the owner in the aim to use the Genetic Identication results of their breeding dogs/cats

6. What is the hereditary disease screening ?
Knowing the genetic status of your animal : Normal homozygous, Heterozygous, Mutated homozygous

7. I wish to make several DNA tests on my animal, how many samples do i have to provide ?
Only one sample is enough to do several tests

8. My animals don't have any symtoms, Do i have to screen them?
If an animal is carrier of a disease (Autosomal recessive), it will not develop the disease but it will transmit the mutation to its descendant in 1 case out of 2

9. Can I test my animal if it has not a microship yet ?
Yes, but you will get a non authenticate result, to get an authenticate result you will have to do an other cheek swab sample and to pay a new analysis

10. Who have to realize a DNA test ?
- Animals owner before a servicing
- Owner or vet when they have a doubt about some symptoms to confirm or not a diagnotic
- Breeders before introducing an outside breeding dog or cat into the kennel

11. Why the cheek swab sample has to be done by the vet ?
To authenticate the sample, and be sure that the sent sample is related to the right animal

12. When performing the test ?
When the animal gets a microship or a tatoo

13. How long does it take to get my result?
The turn around depends on the test you want to do, you can check them on our website on the specific page of your breed

14. What are the conditions to get an official result?
The animal has to get a microship. The sample has to be done by the vet. The sampling certificate must be signed and stamped by the vet

15. I have already done a DNA test last year with ANTAGENE, and I want to do another test on the same animal, what can i do ?
You can use the DNA stored at ANTAGENE, to use it, go on our website, download the document " Request of DNA test on existing DNA sample form" and send us back the request with the payment

16. I am an ANTAGENE customer and I would like to communicate about DNA test benefits, how can i do ?
You can write on your website that your animal is tested with DNA tests and put our logo online with a link to our website

17. What is a result certificate ?
It is an official certificate with the result of the DNA test, pair of marker for the Genetic Identification, compatibility within breeding dogs/cats and puppies/kitten for the Parentage test, and the Genetic Status of the animal for the Selection test.

18. How long the sample is valid ?
Throughout the animal's life

19. What is the reliability of a DNA test performed by ANTAGENE ?
Above 99,9%

20. What is the difference between the online and paper price ?

27. What kind of sample are accepted ?
A cheek swab sample (order your DNA kit free of charge online), or a blood sample on a EDTA tube 2ml

28. What kind of payment are accepted ?

30. Are you storing the sample ?
Yes we keep the whole sample up to 6 months, then we keep and store the DNA of your animal, if you need any further tests, it can be used again

31. Are you stocking the DNA from my sample ?
Yes we store the DNA in the aim to perform test on DNA existing

32. How can I know the price of a DNA test?

33. I have choosen the online price,  How can I get my results ?
When ANTAGENE creates your account, you receive a Log in and a Password  to log you on your personnal account : www.antageneservice.com. On your account you can download your results. You receive an email when your results are available.

34. How can I get my Login and Password to log me on www.antageneservice.com ?
When we create your file, you receive an email with your Log in and Password. If you don't have this email, have a look into your Spam. You can also click on "Password forgotten", write your email address and you will receive your Log in and Password

35. How can I do if there is any mistake on my result certificate?
Please, send an email at contact@antagene.com, you will receive an email when your certificate will be update

36. How can I send you back my sample ?
You have to send us back your sample on the return envelope that we have provided you when we have sent you the kit

37. Is there any expiry date on DNA kit ?
There is no expiry date, but the tube has to contain alcohol enough

38. How can I do if there is no alcohol is the tube ?
You can add alcohol in the tube (70° modified alcohol)

39. How long can I wait before sending you back the sample ?
Around 1 week if you keep the sample into the fridge

40. Who will get the results of the DNA test ?
The veterinary and the owner only, even if the payment has been done by another person
